Love Providence has recognized the importance of keeping at-risk students interested and excited about their education from a young age. Love Providence’s tutoring program partners volunteers of all ages—from high school students to retired adults— with students who may need help engaging in their education. For many students who are struggling with their understanding of the English language, bilingual tutors help provide extra assistance…
Tutors and students meet after school twice a week, which has made a significant and measurable difference in their academic performance. Teachers and parents have noticed improved test scores, a deeper understanding of subject material, and more active participation in the classroom since the program began.
> 2012-2012: It’s that time of year again when the kids head back to school and we start to think about our fall schedules. Think about carving out a couple of hours each week to help an underprivileged child in Providence do better in school and life!
The Homework Club begins the first week in October. All it takes is less than 2 hours a week, 3:15 – 5:00pm on either Tuesday or Thursday at the Reservoir Ave. School in Providence. No experience is necessary. Tutors can be any age from 14 – 100!
