Bags of Hope
This holiday season we are partnering with area churches to provide thousands of duffle bags to children in foster care, embroidered with their name and filled with age appropriate comfort items (i.e. pillow pets, journals, fleece blankets, etc). Children in foster care often store their personal belongings in a trash bag – the goal of Bags of Hope is to replace these trash bags with Duffle bags. This year we’re collecting 1,000 books to gift to infants. You can purchase books by donating funds, every $7 is one book or you can order books directly from our amazon wishlist:
You’re also invited to come wrap the presents and fill the bags on Monday December 2nd, 6-8pm. The wrapping takes place at 262 Swansea Mall Drive, Swansea MA. Please RSVP
On Friday morning from 9:30am -12 on December 17th we’ll be bringing duffles to DCYF in Providence, if you’d like to help load them in Swansea or unload them in Providence please send an RSVP email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll get you more information. At the drop off we’ll be providing the DCYF staff with lunch, you can cover the cost of one lunch by donating $10.
